1. Highlight Illness Awareness and Education

  • Bring in key/resource speakers to conduct lectures for the common diseases prevalent in the company
  • Promote awareness thru tri-media (e.g. posters, videos, flyers and brochures)
  • One-on-one health counselling of medical personnel with the employee
  • Follow the Department of Health (DOH) Health Calendar for information dissemination of illnesses

2. Encourage Exercise

  • Maximize usage of gym facilities within the company
  • Consider bringing in aerobics/dance/zumba/ hiphop instructors
  • Regular exercise schedule for the employees
  • Organize fun run and sports activities such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, etc. for the employees

3. Hone Hunger Options

  • Offer your employees healthy meal and snack options that help fuel their performance while also meeting their nutritional needs
  • Consider replacing sodas with milk, juice, or mineral water, and stocking snack machines with nuts, dried fruit, and other healthy options

4. Manage Stress

  • Encourage employees to take simple steps to reduce stress, like taking several breaks a day to go for a walk, chat with a co worker, or just get outside for a breath of fresh air
  • Offer employees free massage for 15-20 mins. during break time

5. Proper Nutrition

  • Encourage healthy eating habits by inviting a nutritionist to educate employees on proper diet and calorie-counting
  • Conduct a diet activity for weight loss such as “Biggest Loser”
  • Promote calorie-counting by labelling foods in the pantry with their corresponding calories

  • Bring vaccination to the workplace for flu season and pneumonia
